Style Board No. 10 - Rain, Rain, go away!

This weekend’s endless rain throughout the country has got me thinking that a rainy wedding is on the top of the “wedding day disasters” list, so I wanted to share some tips and a cute style board for making a rainy wedding fabulous.

Have a cute umbrella...
make your wedding pictures pop, with an adorable, elegant, or just plain hilarious umbrella.  having one that you love waiting in the wings could make rain on your wedding day kind of fun and exciting!

Ditch the heels for gumboots...
I just love fun bright gumboots. I can totally see a bride holding a colorful umbrella with matching gumboots peeking out from under her white dress.

Have fun with it!
I think the key to any wedding day mishap (weather or otherwise) is to just have fun with it. As long as you look like you’re having fun, the pictures will reflect that!

Pretty Petals - Hydrangeas

Yay it's the weekend! and a long weekend at that one. Today's post is a little feature I will try to post once a week, all about pretty petals. Flowers, I just love a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, weather freshly picked from the garden or a smart arrangement from the florist. I just love how flowers can transform a room, oh the make me so happy!

So, today's style board is all about Hydrangeas, the are in season at the moment in NZ and I have seen loads of big bushes full of pretty pink and blue Hydrangeas, they are such a fun flower, so big and full yet soft and elegant. Create beautiful bouquets on there own or throw in a few roses or even some greenery to really mix it up.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

Real Wedding - Lori and Shay

Hi all, today I bring you my first real wedding feature, and to make it even more fabulous this is the wedding of my beautiful sister Lori and her gorgeous man of 10 years Shay. Lori and Shay returned to New Zealand from Australia to marry under the Pohutukawa tree at our parents farm on Christmas Eve 2010.

Style Board No. 9 - Pretty Garden Tea Party

Happy Monday all! hope you all had a great weekend... lots planned for this week, stay tuned.

This weeks style board is all about pretty garden tea parties. A sweet tea party is perfect for a wedding, engagement party or even a bridal shower, and a perfect way for anyone wanting to scale back costs, but still have an event that will be unique and whimsical.
Think mismatched tablecloths, teapots, teacups, and dishes that can be easily found at thrift shops and garage sales. Serve sandwiches and other finger foods and give desserts a starring role. Instead of a wedding cake, have a variety of yummy homemade desserts including cupcakes displayed on mismatching vintage plates and saucers.

Ice-cream and Lemonade

Hi all, Happy New Year! hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, I sure did, and it was extra special this year as my sister married her sweetheart on Christmas Eve.

I hope you southern hemisphere folk got to take a break, I was lucky enough to sneak off to the Coromandel for a week with friends for the New Year period, a much deserved break!

Now, I am back into the swing of things and have loads planned for 2011, the year is already turning out unreal! I have lots of ideas and inspiration so keep an eye out for new things on the blog and shop. This year I am determined to be a better blogger and get a lot more organized... watch out office space, ya won't know what's hit ya!

So, to this weeks style board... Ice-cream and Lemonade, yummo!
This is a fun style board inspired by all the ice-creams I have been eating of late, and my intentions of making lemonade with all the lemons I have picked off my in-laws tree... great ideas to have at a summer wedding, a gorgeous ice-cream bar and freshly squeezed summer drinks for your guests to sip on.
